8 miles. sunnyside up loop. a little cold at first, but overall a pleasant morning once i warmed up. i am going to be taking it very easy this week. work is crazy.

10 miles. millcreek loop. it was a beautiful morning for a run, although i think it's time to bring out some thicker gloves. no heavy duty ski gloves just yet, but definitely some fleece mittens. i think the only time my hands aren't numb is in july and august.

10 miles. same route as yesterday (millcreek), but slower. 7:54 average pace. 

grrrrr. i overslept this morning. i really, really hate it when i do that. it's never fun to wake up and immediately be thrown into a stressful, adrenaline-pumping situation.  i woke up with exactly nine minutes to be ready and out the door on time -- a tough task to accomplish when you are still trying to wake up. i didn't know where to start, so i was doing everything at random. one shoe on, shove breakfast in my mouth, brush my teeth while putting the other shoe on, etc. gah! nightmare. the good news is that i made it to work on time, but my head was fuzzy for a good two hours (in more ways than one).

so...today was a PM run. i usually don't like to run in the afternoon/evening because my stomach always protests, but today it actually cooperated quite well (not perfect, but it did behave for the most part). the best part was the weather. wow! what a great day to be outside. maybe it is a good thing that i missed out on my cold morning slog through the dark, because the day was perfect. i actually enjoyed a PM run. maybe i should sleep in more often.

5 slow and tired miles. very early and very dark. most likely on a very dangerous loop around SLC. i don't remember much about this run; i was asleep through at least 3 miles of it.

12 miles. water wheel loop + highland drive extension + sugarhouse park grass loop for kicks. 7:42 average pace.

it was really warm out this morning and my legs felt great. that is why i extended my route. it was just so was nice to run in daylight and be in the warm sunshine. glad it's the weekend.

FYI: the magic drinking fountain on this route has been shut off, but they are still watering the sidewalks and dead sunflowers on 3300 south. i am calling the mayor.

FYI 2: nan is amazing! congrats to her on her awesome race today in baltimore  -- 2:35:49 and an "A" standard olympic trials qualifier. brilliant!

also, a big congrats to jun, scott and maurine on their ultras!
