ATC workout at the active oval:

14 x 400m (200m recovery jog)

this was a wild workout, as the oval was washed out in a few places due to all the rain over the last several days. there were two big puddles in the first 50-60m to start things off with a splash, and there was a nice mini-pond to wade through during the recovery jog. hard but fun workout -- i like 400s.

this was a pretty terrible workout for me today. i planned to run sub-5:50 for each one, and i thought i might even be able to dip under 5:40 for the last one or two. the last time i did mile repeats (august 14th), i was hitting mid-5:40s without feeling like i was straining too much. today i was straining way too much. i could not get anything going.

i'm a bit worried i've gone from race-shapeness to stale over the past few weeks. hopefully i can rally for tufts -- i have one more week to get myself together. i really, really want and need to run a good race there.
