am: i took the train to sandy and then walked/jogged 3.5 miles into work. i had a pretty heavy pack with my laptop and other random work stuff, and i was trying really hard to not get too sweaty, but it was inevitable.
pm #1: 9.5 miles with devra on the jordan river parkway. i almost bailed due to time constraints and a finite amount of energy (i still had my journey home). but then i decided it would only make me stronger, and when i say stronger i mean injured. we warmed up for about 2 miles and then did a 20 minute tempo run, which i completely bombed. devra dropped me at 9:14. the workout just went downhill from there, and when i say downhill i mean uphill and windy. 20 minutes have never gone by so slowly. i feel bad because i'm just not a good training partner -- the point was to do the workout together to push each other, but because of my lack of [several problems inserted here], we both ended up running solo for over half of it. the only positive is that i got my 5k in for the week.
pm #2: 3.5 miles jogging back up to the trax station with my giant backpack. there were a couple of walk breaks in there to wipe my brow, gulp water, dramatically fall to my knees, etc.
pm #3: 30 minute delay on the train because it decided to break down in murray (what!). i'm losing patience here. i finally reached the 2100 south station and then ran to the sick bay to pick up my jeep. 1 mile or so...i kind of lost track at this point.
the best part of the day was that i found something to spend my TOU money on: a new radiator!
