i was on my way to the killers concert last night but my jeep had other plans. it is back in the sick bay...will find out the diagnosis on monday. it was bound to happen.

at first i was pretty bummed about missing the concert, but it gave my sister a chance to take another friend and they had a good time, so it wasn't a total loss. i really just wanted to hear a dustland fairytale...

PM: leisure ride...lazy-coast and easy-pedal were my only gears today. 16 miles around logan and providence. another beautiful day.

more thoughts from my thousands of pages of reading:

"the first step to improvement is dissatisfaction with the status quo. yet if one feels dissatisfaction, it must not be diverted into complaining; it must be actively linked to improvement. in this sense, we can say that dissatisfaction is the mother of improvement." 

i was feeling good this morning, so i pre-blogged a PM 5-miler. ended up scratching it for one more day on the bike. i found something interesting about my hip and bike-riding yesterday. it pops when i pedal, but i have never noticed it popping when i run. it is not painful; it actually feels really good, like a re-alignment of sorts. that is why i opted for the bike again today.

 conquered old main hill twice today. i deliberately planned out an inefficient schedule to ensure i made two trips up the hill. rode up to do some work on campus in the morning then went back up around 3 PM. took the long route home going past first dam and down along canyon road. then i just rode around for awhile through the neighborhoods around merlin olsen park so as not to waste the opportunity to enjoy the precious sunshine. it's all over tomorrow. 

just over 10 miles round-trip, so a shorter ride than yesterday but much more intense. run is in the works for tomorrow...

SUPER-cold hands this morning...and i was even wearing my magic moisture-wick mizuno gloves. guess it's time to invest in some new ones. overall a pleasant morning, but the achy hands were a big distraction. i didn't have my watch, but have no problem determining that the pace was slow.

this blog is all quiet now that 85% of you have voyaged to st. george. the hype returns tomorrow. i'll have to pencil in "race report reading" as this might take awhile. best of luck to all the runners.

PM run. first dam loop. this included an accidental dash through a large group in khakis getting family portraits taken on the USU campus (sorry!). canyon road is deceivingly long sometimes.
