10 miles up mtn. road to dry canyon  and onto the bonneville shoreline trail. a warm 45 degrees this morning. very nice. i wore my new pair of brooks launch. such a wonderful shoe.

what is the distance from dry canyon to the next "outlet" on the bst? and where do you end up? i turned around at 5 miles so i didn't make it far enough to find out. would be nice to know for a longer run, though.

4:32 am - it was hard to get going this morning. my alarm went off at 4 and it took me 32 minutes just to get out the door. i was dragging.

it took me about two miles to get out of zombie mode. the good thing was that it felt really nice out. 36 degrees, wet, but not raining anymore. air was fresh. ran 3 giant loops around campus. just me and the worms.

my last 20-miler. it was scheduled for friday, but i suddenly have way too much going on that day. plus it is my commute day which always brings added stress. so, today was the day. 

i ran 1 mile from my house to the TOU finish line, then followed the course out to hollow road (mile 16.5-ish). then i turned around and followed the course back to the finish line. most of the orange moose on the road have faded or completely disappeared, but it was fun looking for them. 

i am disappointed in myself for one thing about this run --- i did not do my 5-mile MP tempo. i really needed to get a feel for pace and test my fitness, but i couldn't get it going. i did run a good 4 mile stretch with some faster miles ranging from 6:38 - 7:10, but i didn't push it as hard as i could have. i mostly just wanted to get through the distance today. i will worry about sharpening my speed with my final BW and 5K race.

 total time: 2:35:22 / 7:46 average

i wore my nike frees. no problems. still love them. they are now my official eugene race shoes.

afternoon run. se7en easy. it was a lovely day. perfect spring weather, sunshine, bees flying into my face and box elder bugs hitching rides on my shirt. 

pu-pu-su: (from last night)

pull: 1, 1, 1 (really, i do not see myself ever progressing in this area)

push: 8, 8, 9 (my least favorite of the three)

sit: 60, 50, 60 (i get VERY impatient)

feeling great today after yesterday's run. no soreness or hip woes. needs to stay that way.
