i stuck to my plan and it worked pretty well -- controlled for the first eight, then hard to the finish. i didn't really drop the pace as i had originally planned (the plan was flawed -- j.r. moore), but the effort definitely increased to the level i wanted. the conservative start was helpful. it's the first time i've finished striders feeling reasonably good (not crashing and/or wanting to die).

Way to go Allie! It is so easy to get caught up in the excitement of the race.....good for you for sticking to your plan!

Nice racing. I don't think the plan was flawed - maybe just a bit too excited on 4-6. You were so nice to sort the bags.

I told James I was aiming for a 6:05 first mile and he thought I said I was running 6:05 pace and adjusted accordingly down to 5:30 for the mile. That's smart racing - sabotage the competitors.

Another solid race Allie. Thanks for checking on me.

I wonder what it feels like to finish a half marathon not wanting to die...you will have to describe that to me in more detail one day. Great race, allie.

Awesome job, and great execution of your plan! It's nice not feeling trashed after a good run as well! I hope to see you at Des News where you will kick some A!

Look at that, you surpassed my estimated time for you. You were pessimistic with over 1:24, and I had you under 1:24.

Awesome.

Congrats.

Very consistent pacing and another solid race Allie. Congratulations!

Beautiful race Allie! I'm just a little bummed though...we saw James and the first 3 females (including Devra), but I guess I hadn't paid enough attention to know you were running it and I didn't wait another 30-60 seconds to see you!! STINK! I'm glad you had a good day and an incredible race.

Definitely a big negative split effort. Not wanting to die is great!!

I looked at the results link and your name was capitalized. I think you should ask them to fix it.
