i watch this every now and then when i'm looking for motivation. 

2004 was the first time i ever watched an olympic marathon. it was right before my senior year of high school, before i had even found the sport of xc. but there was something inside of me that started churning when i watched deena finish this race. i was completely consumed by it. i ran my first marathon the next summer -- des news 2005.

i'm in a nostalgic mood, apparently.

It's ok to be nostalgic Allie. It's what motivates us.. I think we all may have that person, place or event that inspires us. Mine happened to be Youtube videos of Boston Billy run his first Boston marathon victory some years ago. Hold onto it:)

I remember watching that race live. Paula in tears on the side of the road. Deena was awesome that day.
