this was the first race of my life wearing earrings.

i wasn't expecting to do much better than this today (i actually predicted 19:39 before the start, but who is going to believe that). i'm definitely at a fitness low point right now, but the down time has a purpose and it's been good for me and my falling apart everything. my only focus for november was to get my consistency back. i'll be ramping things up for another marathon cycle soon enough. february isn't that far away anymore...

look at this fab course:

james and i had a nice t-day celebration with just the two of us this year. we ate mushroom risotto off of our wobbly plastic patio furniture (and we lit a candle). rooftop like we bringin' '88 back.

I can't believe you crossed the interstate TWICE and came out unscathed!

3 months is enough time to be back in marathon form if the time is used wisely. I have faith that neither one of us will be dropping down to the community fun run in Boulder!

it's easy to cross the interstate in ATL because the cars are always traveling at 0 mph. hey-ohhhh!

i bought some spikes as an early xmas gift to myself and that sparked a whole new level of motivation. i am currently breaking them in by scratching up the floor on MARTA.

Hey, It was at Turner field!

Nothing better than racing at 5k effort up hills when you're out of shape! And by "better" I mean "worse."

Sounds like a wonderful thanksgiving:)

One question... were you wearing dangly earrings? Sorry I'm playing catch up. This post is basically an antique at this point.

I'm with Jake on the Interstate crossing. But what's up with the earrings? Only that you mentioned it.

From allie on Mon, Feb 23, 2015 at 09:00:02 from

no dangly earrings, just boring studs. i'll go with danglys in my next race.

i mentioned it because i got my ears pierced two days before this race. ATL is making me a bit more ornamental.
