i've run this race one other time, in the spring of 2015, where i ran 40:57. i figured i was in similar shape today (which would be not-much-shape), but i ended up feeling pretty good and i'm happy with the effort. it also gives me a future goal to run a sub-40 10k again. lol jk

it was a beautiful, sunny day, as opposed to last time when it was mud raining and i was shamefully wearing a wet beanie. james managed to run this race four years in a row, and he has won it the last three. i gave him the title of intown ten GOAT, but he won't accept it despite owning four mini flags now.

in other news, our apartment flooded due to what is likely a root blockage in the main sewer line (it's even nastier than it sounds hey-oh), so we are now partially living in james' office and/or kroger. we went home after the race to pick up a few things and check on the progress, and the plumber swam by the window in goggles and flippers and gave us a thumbs down.

closing the door on all of this in 10 days

Nice race, Allie. Where are you both headed?

jd - thanks. i'll tell you the funniest part of it was when i had just finished mopping up all the water and then it flooded again. then i had just finished mopping up all the water again and it flooded *again*. LOL. i threw my shoe at the wall during episode three. all i ever wanted was giardia.

jason - thanks. we are moving to seattle. gearing up for a 2762 mile road trip. :)

Congrats on the race effort Allie - always a pleasant surprise to surpass your expectations. Really sorry to hear about the apartment. PM me if you guys need a place to stay - we have plenty of room.

Great race!

Bad roots.

Great move.

If James isn't Intown Ten GOAT, who is?

Nice job. Can't wait 'til you a Seattle Supersonics fan.

Wait- you're leaving me alone in the great Southeast?

You do realize it rains as much up there, right, except it comes down over 300 days instead of 30 hours?
