8 miles. sunnyside swirlwind.

it was another windy morning out, but this time it was combined with bitter cold air. the headwind was fairly strong running up sunnyside, and the constant blasting of cold air was giving me brain freeze.

You are extreme.

From Oreo on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 11:30:20 from

Brain freeze - and you didn't even get to enjoy ice creame.. Extreme is right.

From JulieC on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 12:45:37 from

are you thawed out yet? btw however do you survive out there with your Reynauds?

From Lysa on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 12:59:57 from

My son calls it freeze brain. Awesome 8 allie! You are always so tough to go out no matter what

From JD on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:01:20 from

that is wonderful, delightful, brilliant, heavenly, dazzling, sublime, remarkable to hear.

From Dan on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:14:39 from

Hi Allie :) Brain Freeze.... I get that when I think.

From Steam8 on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:50:12 from

I don't know how you ran outside this morning! BURRRRRRR!!! Glad you made your Sunnyside up!

From Kam on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:56:11 from

Sunnyside. It's such a soothing word.

From Rob on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 16:43:01 from

Good run especially in the wind. I got lucky and only had a slight breeze at times out of Weber Canyon. I thought I was going to get blasted this morning.

From RAD on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 17:07:05 from

Nice. I love that you are so hard core. Someday I won't be a pansy and I'll run outside like you!!

julie - i survive the reynauds with giant, giant ski gloves. and i still barely survive it.

kam - running up sunnyside is very soothing. especially when there is 10 degree wind whistling in your ears.

rob - i'm glad the storm hit as predicted. what a crazy december it's been so far...

JD - where on earth did you come up with so many adjectives?

scott - i looked for you.

dan - hi dan.

From allie on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 20:06:40 from

rob - when i say "hit" i really mean "didn't hit"...

From Smooth on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 21:52:03 from

giant ski gloves rock!!! :)

From Nancy on Tue, Dec 06, 2011 at 00:26:40 from

I'm sure tomorrow I will not wear a tank top and shorts when I run. Nice job.

From Tara on Tue, Dec 06, 2011 at 07:06:53 from

Brain freeze. Whoa. I get that even without the cold. I'm mad I missed out on a group run on Saturday (just saw the msg). I had to work anyway. Let me know of the next. I have been dying to get out on a long Saturday run for a long time now but it seems most of the weekends are so busy with the holidays or work. Did you sign up for the SLC circuit? BTW, you have overdeveloped knee muscles? Sounds like a winners secret to me. How do I get those?

From allie on Tue, Dec 06, 2011 at 09:42:59 from

tara - i will be sure to let you know when the next one is -- likely this saturday, but i'm not sure. i'm not signed up for the circuit yet. i don't think i will be doing any more races until march. as for the overdeveloped knee muscles -- it's a result of having no strength in my calves, hamstrings or quads. the knees do all the work. i developed them by walking around on my knees 90% of the time. this strengthened my knees and allowed the other muscles to atrophy.

From JulieC on Tue, Dec 06, 2011 at 11:20:58 from

I too would like to join you all...out early : D but please not 7mm AP in hibernation mode currently.

From Tara on Tue, Dec 06, 2011 at 16:34:34 from

Allie- LOLOLOL walking on kness causing muscle atrophy LOLOL. Good one. Waa, I work or am out of town till after christmas for my Saturdays, but run in my name please, and I will join in the new year. PS. have you heard of Kassi Anderson Harmon? She is new to the SLC area and I am trying to get her to join the blog and run with us. Super-fast-Nan- Kennard-Andrea-North-Allie-Scott type runner.

JulieC- We only run long runs at race pace;) I thought the same thing when I first ran with Allie. It turns out she is slow in mud with the rest of us:) Let's hope it's muddy.

From allie on Tue, Dec 06, 2011 at 16:39:32 from

yes, i do know kassi. i didn't know she was living in SLC. recruit! recruit!

i will look forward to running with you in the new year, and we will certainly run in your name until then. we'll make signs, too.
