8 miles -- 6 miles barefoot. 3 grass loops around sugarhouse park. [when i say grass, i really mean mud/dead pine needles]. i'm trying to sort out the tightness in my right shin and calf, which has been bothering me for a few weeks now. the barefoot running seemed to help.

PM: weights, monster walk and plank with james. i will be sore.

From allie on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 01:05:33 from

From allie on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 01:08:23 from

oh. right. i guess i did mean mud/dead pine needles.

there is no marijuana in sugarhouse park. it's all in my garden. don't tell the government.

From Burt on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 01:33:44 from

Oh, I get it. Selling sugar to the sweet.

Barefoot season is upon us! (Except for the storm passing through tomorrow).

From RAD on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 17:51:56 from

6 miles barefoot would probably GIVE me shin splints - but then again I am a pampered princess when it comes to shoes :)

From Lily on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 18:43:17 from

I want to run barefootie with you as well. We're tough like that

From Kam on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 19:20:40 from

Hopefully the barefoot running won't expose other sore spots or tightness.

From PRE on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 22:00:19 from

Hope the tightness gets resolved. Looks like you have quite a few races lined up. Looking forward to reading about them. June and July look amazing. Looks like six races planned.

From Dan on Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 23:24:36 from

Glad barefoot running helped some, hope it gets better and so does the mayor. Carrots were suggested.

From flatlander on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 00:22:34 from

Good luck with that, hope none of that interferes with your racing schedule this year.

From april27 on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 12:37:16 from

Do you have vibran shoes...just wonder b/c i'm deathly afraid of running barefoot and getting a chunk of glass in it.

From Burt on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 12:38:11 from

I'm deathly afraid of getting a hookworm.

From Smooth on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 13:54:53 from

BAREFOOT?!!! The crocs are not jealous?

Good luck on the Running of the Leopards! :)

From Smooth on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 14:02:47 from

Oh, how's the shin and calf today?

From Merri on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 14:37:40 from

"monster walk" eh? so that's what you crazy kids call it these days.

From glidergirl on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 20:02:37 from

Wow, barefoot! That's awesome! Do you do that often or just when you have issues? I hope your legs get healed up quick. :)

From Nancy on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 20:51:59 from

I hope the barefoot running helped. I'm glad you didn't step on something sharp and cut your foot.

From Nan on Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 21:50:11 from

Go go barefoot master!

Is that leopard race this weekend? Have fun!!

From JulieC on Fri, Mar 18, 2011 at 13:09:36 from

ahhhh barefoot....but not in pine needles, really? you must be able to rise above those pointy things. I have wicked sensitive feet. Way to go!! hope your calf problem is better.
