17 miles. 2.5 hours running in circles at the olympic oval. i ran with teena and matt for the first several laps, then RAD arrived and we ran together for the remainder of the time. i also met rossy today, which was great! he lapped us about 300 times. it was a fun morning running with great people, and it was nice to get out of the gunky air (it's really bad today -- AQI is at 140 and rising).

Thanks for my wake up call and nice morning run! The laps were SO much more tolerable with you there, thanks for swallowing your pride and letting the little kids kick your trash - we almost got 'em! :)

From Rob on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 14:00:42 from

Wow! That's a lot of circles.

From Rob on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 14:01:57 from

Or ovals I should say.

From marion on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 14:08:32 from

Good luck with the air :( Keep breathing!! Nice run :) How on earth do you mark your run or does your garmin work in there?

From Twinkies on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 14:14:34 from

2.5 hrs running in circles, that makes me dizzy just thinking about it.

From Nancy on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 15:26:19 from

It sounds like you got a nice run in and didn't have to worry about the ice and gunk in the air.

From RivertonPaul on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 16:02:42 from

That is just a diferent kind of ellipticalling. Great run.

From emruns on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 16:37:33 from

Next time you want to run circles, give me a call and I'll join you. I only live 10 minutes away from the Oval.

From JD on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 17:02:31 from

Nice long one.

From JulieC on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 17:30:24 from

how many circles make a mile? AQI 140? I don't know what that means but Mel and I ran in it. So it was smog and not fog? I am still alive but am super tired of the poor visibility and sheets of black ice. Way to go for 2.5 hrs in circles!! Hi Rad!!

From Lily on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 17:46:50 from

Your new nickname should be Oval. :)

I only wish I could have run as far as you

From RAD on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 18:05:58 from

Julie, it's not too bad. It's over 3 laps/mile, I don't know exactly how much over 3, but 11 laps is 3 miles.

From Carina on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 18:06:22 from

Sweet, I think I'll try the oval sometime, it sounds fun!!

From JD on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 18:28:21 from

It wasn't too long ago that we could have called you "Oval Teen".

From auntieem on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 18:59:28 from

I love running laps like that! 2.5 hours - sweet. Nice plank, too, I mean, is there a plank contest that I don't know about? I will time my next plank, just in case!

From Teena Marie on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 19:15:02 from

It was so much fun seeing and running with you a bit this morning!!!

Everything about you is so fun. You really are amazing!!!

From Tom Slick on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 21:03:48 from

Great mileage week.....I don't know how you all can stand running in circles, indoors!

From PRE on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 21:29:06 from

Glad to see I am not the only one doing laps. I did ten 1.25 mile laps today due to the weather - in the slush - but after the first 1.25 miles, knew what to watch out for...and minimal traffic area. So rather than putting off runs, I just do laps in poor weather. And you did what sounds like 51 plus laps for total of 17 miles. Good mileage and glad to see you had company.

From Dan on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 22:12:49 from

Nice run Allie - having others helps I am sure as does getting some better air!

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 12:38:43 from

Sounds like a blast running w/ such great people! You are the funnest and best running companion one can ever have!

I'd love to watch you run in circles! :)

NICE planking and wall sitting! :)

From steve ash on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 13:19:21 from

Must have just missed you. I came in soome where around 10 am and ran 15 miles. Now I know I saw Rossy, he was going opposite of traffic so he must have been doing a cooldown. Thats what I hate about working nights I don't get going till lunchtime some days!

From Karen on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 15:32:53 from

Brutal! I didn't know the air quality out there was that bad. Is it always that way? Kudos to you for gutting it out on the oval!

From april27 on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 19:28:21 from

Man I forgot about the wall sit! I have to dothat!

From Rossy on Mon, Jan 10, 2011 at 00:13:49 from

Allie, once again, it was great to meet you and to talk about one of our favorite races, the D-News Marathon. It was sort of an informal reunion of D-News Marathoners at the Oval. This year's race is sure to bring even more agony and fun than ever! Also, way to avoid the poor air quality by getting in 17 solid, indoor miles!

Also, Steve I remember seeing you; that is, you were just flying around the track! Good thing I was running the opposite direction or you would have lapped me by about 300 times. Way to get in some quality miles! By the way, my cool-down trot was more of a why-did-I-fall-in-love-with-the-idea-of-runing-twenty-miles-around-a-track-two-hours-ago-and-now-I-just-want-to-end-this-endless-cycle-without-getting-hurt grind. However, it was fun times!
