so i typed up a long, beautiful entry yesterday updating the status of my foot and such. basically it was a long paragraph of ranting and raving, followed by my conclusion that my foot was feeling great and i was going to get back to running today. oh, and there was also a paragraph in there about irony...i spent the last few days on my bike and just when i am ready to get back to running i came home yesterday to find it had been stolen. WHO DOES THAT?!!?!? i took it as a sign that i wouldn't need to use it anymore.

this morning was the test...and it was successful. not only did my foot feel great (no pain whatsoever), but my legs and the rest of my body felt wonderful. my body was hungry to run at full strength again. everything seems to be good, and hopefully i am back on track and can get into some serious training again. 6 weeks until the race!!! hopefully i will be ready.

Sorry to hear about the bike getting stolen, people these days. I am glad your foot is feeling better.

Hi Allie,

I am writing this as sort of a test. I am curious if you can see entries being posted today related to an entry you made three years ago.

I was trying to access your blogs from 2005, 2006, and 2007 to compare them to 2008, 2009 and 2010. Why? Well, there had been dramatic improvement in your times for the Marathon. These past three years see you running Marathons an hour faster than the prior three years.

But of note, I was not able to see blogs from 2005 and 2006 or 2007.

So if you see this...Congratulations on your drastic improvement. And do you know if the site deletes blogs after three or four years?

By the way...I finally registered for a race!

hi PRE,

yes, comments will show up even on posts that are two years old. i find it funny that you commented on this particular post -- i forgot how mad i was when my bike was stolen. ha!

the reason why you can't see any posts from 2005 - 2007 is because they do not exist. i did not even start blogging on here until june of 2008. i know my blog says i have been a member since july of 2005 -- it is because when i joined the blog i went back and logged short entries for all the marathons i had done in previous years. so you will find random entries on random dates from 2005 to 2008 before i started blogging on a daily basis. if you look at sasha's blog, his entries go all the way back to 1986!

and as far as i know, the site does not delete old entries even if they are several years old. but you can always back them up by exporting your data to a csv file. just log in and go to your workout calendar. there are options to "export month", "export year" or "export all".

Hi Allie,

Thanks for the info on backing up. I will try that as I am interested in how that would look. You blogged me in another area and I will go there to blog back. Amazing that this site has been around since at least 1986!!! Must be amazing for Sasha to go back that far in time and read what was written way back when. I have kept running journals since I started running (12/25/08) and I enjoy seeing the progress. I outlined every run. What worked, what did not. I could not run a mile without several stops when I first started. And for the longest time, there were many stops during each mile. But...one of the best aspects of reading about runs gone by is actually remembering the very runs - or elements of the run. You have been running for a while. So I am thinking you have had some memorable runs. Well I am going to your other blog now.

i believe the site has only been around since 2007. but you can blog back to any date. so if you wanted to, you could enter all of your past running journals on here. have fun :)

I don't think I will take that on. Would be much too much typing. I have the hard copies and that will have to suffice.

I actually toyed with the idea of plugging in all the runs without my comments...but decided to simply plug in only the races themselves versus every single run.
