Have you tried doing a hard reset on that garmin?

...or you could try pressing the Power and the Mode buttons until the unit comes on and asks if you want to erase all user data. Select Yes.
Slap it real hard a few times. I do that first, then I just return it to REI for another one.
Stop runnin' so darn fast and maybe it will start working normal again.
I like the Dilweed loop better.
