i predicted i would run ~1:22 unless i had a really fantastic or a really blowuptastic day. the weather was perfect -- chilly fall sunshine and no wind. the course was flat and very scenic, running through center city and then going out and back along the shuylkill river.

i felt stronger than i thought i would throughout the race, which was encouraging. i wasn't very confident going in, as i only decided to run this three weeks ago and i haven't been doing a lot of mileage lately (40-50 mpw). i think my training is about to head in the marathony direction, so if that's the case i may be able to take a stab at sub-1:20 in january (either at jacksonville half or naples).

one of my teammates qualified for the olympic trials with a [legit legit] 1:13, and the other one ran 1:17, which was a huge PR for her. so a good day all around. we spent the rest of the day/night exploring philly and halloweening around. it's a fun city.

Great race Allie! It is always pleasant to run better than expected. And yes, lots of cool stuff in Philly. Eat at the City Tavern if you want some great food!

Great job, Allie! Sounds like a great weekend. "shuylkill " is so much fun to say, i may never stop.

Really good race, considering some of the somewhat recent struggles. I think you're definitely capable of a lot more too. Congrats to you and the team!

I have no idea how to pronounce schuylkill, but it seems like a good place to run on Halloween. Or a bad one.

I was thinking this might have been a non-aided PR. Marathon training builds a lot of half strength. Glad Philadelphia treated you well.
