10 miles at liberty park with a four mile tempo! run.

splits: 6:50, 6:35, 6:29, 6:22

i'm going off memory with those because i was using andrea's garmin (andrea -- let me know if i need to edit). i'm so lame sometimes, as i didn't really think it through on how i was going to keep track of the mileage during the tempo. luckily andrea was prepared.

andrea rode next to me on the bike, which was awesome. it was much more manageable and pleasant than if i had done this on my own. i was a little too relaxed in the first mile (chatting too much), and i was really feeling it by the last mile.

very, very easy running for the next two days. just a few more weeks to not mess this up, and then it's time to taper.

sugarhouse relays on saturday -- sign up.

I do my tempos at Liberty. Every half mile up to six miles is marked on the sidewalk. The start is just past the entrance on the north side of the park, by the big green park sign. The half miles are marked by 2 dots, and the mile with lines. (2 miles = 2 lines, 2.5 = 2 lines and 2 dots, etc.)

good to know -- thank you. i've seen the markings but was not sure how it worked. seems easy enough. :)

i was planning to go off the mile markers from the 5k course, but i realized that would only work through three miles...

Great workout Allie. I also like the plan for the next few weeks. I think you have done everything right with this build up and am really excited for you.

Tempo! Some might even call it a progressive tempo.

Bike pacers are awesome :-)
