"can't get out of the neighborhoods, people dropping trash and blowing their noses all over, etc."

This one was my favorite:
Next time run them out west 13 miles and back again. They can still prance the same distance and the rest of the world won't be forced into drinking the Koolaid that this is something special.

I love how people HATE the SLC Marathon!
We actually got boxed in Saturday morning (bike tour!). Had to detour and it took like 5 minutes extra to get up to Alta. A few minutes before we got to Cardiff Peak, another group hiking up ahead of us triggered a sizable avalanche. So in some ways the SLC Marathon morning traffic disaster kept us out of harm's way. #Blessings!!!

The Salt Lake Marathon has no redeeming qualities except that it involves running. Which is something I support.

It also now involves roller skating!

my brother said he was confused because he thought it was the SLC marathon but everyone he saw was on skates.
the sport is evolving, bro.

i'll let you in on a secret (don't spread this around): the #1 reason why i ever even sign up for a marathon is so i can prance and drop trash.
also, #1 reason why i want the fittest state festival to make a comeback is so i can read the post race facebook comments.

If the Fittest State Festival came back I'd sign up in a heartbeat. Especially if it lined up where you could run the Half-Marathon / 5K / Marathon triple.
