yesterday's workout didn't help me at all, and i was marathon sore today. so i took the day off, which isn't helping my fitness or my confidence. i'm panicking about slc half, but a day off to fix my issues is probably better than an injury, which i feel is coming if i'm not careful.

i did some cross training - walked around, arm weights, dead bugs, one-legged bridging, made soup, push ups, went to the mailbox, etc.

i am just lingering, lingering, lingering in a post-marathon funk. it's been six weeks now...

Even the very best cannot be 100% all the time. They are great because they have down days (weeks) too. Mom said.

at least you recognize the funk and are taking the necessary steps required to flip that funk to a frothy funky fresh fit feeling.

Kara's Mom is very wise (you know her as Tara, but, I know the truth).

Just take a boatload of thyroid medication, apparently that's what everyone else does when they are tired.

A boatload of thyroid medicine? Good to know. I always thought it was B-12:) Allie needs it intravenously, STAT!

My mom also agrees.

I think you are very smart to take the day off. You need rest more than you need to run.

From allie on Wed, Apr 10, 2013 at 19:32:33 from

thank you, mom. i just bought a boat (actually it's more like a ship), and wal mart said they would fill it with thyroids for $4.

nancy - hi. i waved at every house in south jordan today. i'm sure one of them was yours. :)

speaking of frothy, i forgot to mention that tee's tights were foaming at the knees on monday. i think that is the funniest thing i have ever encountered in my life, ever.

have you had your ferritin checked? I experienced a similar funk when mine had gotten looooow.

From allie on Wed, Apr 10, 2013 at 19:52:48 from

april - no, but it's in the works. thanks. :)

I think we need to get together for a run:) maybe we can give each other a pep talk. Hey misery loves company:) I'm feeling the same exact way you are but didn't run a marathon 6 weeks ago. I'm in the post 7 month marathon funk. No lie I think that marathon wiped everything out of me. I'm still trying to recover. Give it time 6 weeks in my book is still wayyy early.
