track workout at brighton high with devra and tee. 2 x 2 miles.
this was a poor decision.
it was raining. and sometimes hailing.
the track was covered in water.
i had to wring out my shorts before we even started the workout.
i stayed with devra and tee for the first 200 meters, and then spent 7.5 laps running on my own. i was probably crying, but i don't remember.
i was losing 3-4 seconds per lap, and devra and tee were quickly pulling away.
i finished in 12:36, a solid 200+ meters behind.
at this point i realized (no, i had already realized) that i was being really stupid and i was probably going to hurt myself, so i decided to only run one more hard mile. i jogged around while devra and tee ran their first mile, and then jumped in and found myself fading back again. i finished that mile in 6:03.
march was a low and slow month of training for me, and a lot of that was on purpose. i did not think that my fitness would deteriorate so dramatically.
mostly i'm just mad it was raining because it ruined my fancy monday hair.
